The French-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI France Russie) held the presentation on the Arbitration Court and Mediation Center on November 8 in Moscow. During the meeting held in the form of business breakfast Russian and foreign participants discussed the prospects of development of arbitration courts in the Russian Federation, as well as efficiency of mediation.
Arbitration court is an independent body, an alternative way for various disputes resolution between both the Russian and foreign legal entities and individuals. It is distinguished from courts by a number of advantages, the most significant of which are, for example, reaching an agreement of the parties in shorter time frames and opportunity to choose competent judges. As it was mentioned the Arbitration Court at the French-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI France Russie) in Moscow operates in accordance with Russian law.
During the business breakfast the presentation on the Mediation Center of CCI France Russie was also provided as new method of settlement disputes between companies and entrepreneurs by carrying out out-of-court negotiations. This gives the parties an opportunity to discuss and resolve a conflict out-of-court and renew normal relations with assistance of a facilitator – an independent and impartial third party (a mediator) possessing no powers of authority. The advantages of this procedure are becoming more and more significant: the parties can keep control over the situation, save time, money and forces, finding their own solution to the dispute independently.
The business breakfast became a unique opportunity as for members of CCI France Russie, so invited guests among whom there were also Alexey Shadrin and Vladislav Sheludyaev –lawyers from BRACE Law Firm, not only to share their ideas about a hot topic, but also to congratulate each other on the significant event – the French-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry 20th anniversary! For already 20 years the French-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry strengthens economic and commercial relations between France and Russia, promotes investments, continues a constructive dialogue and better understanding of the French and Russian reality.
