On November 19, 2014, BRACE Law Firm, the Center for Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Regulatory Environment Research at the Faculty of Law of the National Research University Higher School of Economics, and the Life Sciences Legal Club hosted a roundtable discussion focused on the "Legal Aspects of Combating the Falsification of Medicinal Products."
The keynote speakers delivered presentations on critical regulatory matters:
• Grigoriy Shevchenko (JSC “OPEN TECHNOLOGIES”) focusing on "Information Systems for Verifying the Authenticity of Medicinal Products";
• Dmitry Mazaev (National Research University Higher School of Economics) addressing "Falsification and Counterfeiting of Medicinal Products as Infringements on the Exclusive Rights of Pharmaceutical Companies";
• Alexander Panov (National Research University Higher School of Economics) examining "Consumer Protection in the Context of Falsified Medicinal Products";
• Nadezhda Lusch (National Research University Higher School of Economics) exploring "Serialization as a Mechanism to Combat the Falsification of Medicinal Products";
• Alexey Shadrin (National Research University Higher School of Economics) analyzing "Criminal Law Aspects of Combating the Counterfeiting of Medicinal Products."
The panel of discussants included:
