Olga Pelekhataia, CEO of Aseptica Corporation and Chair of the Board of the Guild of Trade and Service Enterprises of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, alongside Roman Shabrov, Managing Partner of BRACE Law Firm and Board Member of the Guild of Trade and Service Enterprises of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, attended the Economic Forum "Moscow - Vienna 2014: Synergy - New Growth Opportunities," which took place in the capital of Austria.
As part of the Moscow Days in Vienna events, the grand conference hall of the Vienna Economic Chamber hosted the economic forum on economic, investment, and technological cooperation "Moscow - Vienna 2014: Synergy - New Growth Opportunities" on September 9. The Moscow Government Department for External Economic and International Relations and the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized the forum.
Opening the forum, Walter Ruck, President of the Vienna Economic Chamber, emphasized that the business forum held within the framework of the Moscow Days in Vienna is of paramount importance for developing relations between Russia and Austria, as well as Vienna and Moscow. Sergey Nechaev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Austria, and Renate Brauner, Vice Mayor of Vienna, also delivered welcoming remarks. Suren Vardanyan, Vice President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, thanked his colleagues for the opportunity to host the business forum and expressed hope for strengthening ties between the business communities of both nations.
Over 150 Russian and Austrian delegates attended the forum. During the event, participants addressed the existing cooperation experience between the two countries, business prospects in Moscow for Austrian entrepreneurs, and positive case studies of Austrian companies operating in Moscow. They also discussed the Austrian urban expansion project, "Seestadt Aspern."
The presentation of the Russian capital’s investment potential, delivered by the head of the Moscow delegation, Minister of the Moscow Government and Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations Sergey Cheremin, garnered significant interest among the participants. Alexey Zabelin, Rector of the Moscow University of Finance and Law (MFUA), also spoke on behalf of the Moscow delegation. Andrey Cherney, Deputy Trade Representative of Austria in the Russian Federation, outlined business prospects in Moscow. Commercial Counselor Norbert Schaller (Norbert Schaller GmbH) shared his experience doing business in Moscow, while Peter Löschl (ABA-Invest) discussed business operations in Austria and Vienna. The presentations were followed by a roundtable discussion where participants examined energy efficiency issues in detail.
Concluding a productive day, members of the Moscow delegation and their Austrian colleagues attended an official reception hosted by the Moscow Government. The Economic Forum on Economic, Investment, and Technological Cooperation "Moscow - Vienna 2014: Synergy - New Growth Opportunities" forms an integral part of the broader Moscow Days in Vienna program featuring the Moscow Government delegation. Minister of the Moscow Government and Head of the City's Department for External Economic and International Relations Sergey Cheremin leads the delegation.
